Modern warfare is seeing a rise in laser-guided weaponry that creates invisible danger zones on the battlefield. KWESST, a Canadian defense technology firm, is addressing this challenge with its Battlefield Laser Detection System (BLDS).
The company has been awarded a contract to supply prototypes of the system to a leading North American armored vehicle initiative. The BLDS provides real-time alerts when forces are being targeted by laser threats—including targeting lasers, laser-guided munitions, and range-finding equipment—significantly improving survivability in hostile environments.
