South Korea has disclosed that it is in the final negotiation stage of a high-value deal to deliver more K2 tanks to Poland, reaffirming their deepening defense partnership.
This initiative stems from a previous $13.7 billion defense package signed in 2022, which included tanks and aircraft, forming the cornerstone of Poland’s modernization efforts amid growing regional threats.
An official told AFP that negotiations are advancing quickly with involvement from both sides’ defense authorities and firms, aiming for a swift conclusion.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration noted this could become South Korea’s largest-ever arms sale focused on a single platform.
Yonhap’s report puts the estimated deal at $6 billion, with Hyundai Rotem making 117 tanks and Poland manufacturing 63 through its Polish Armaments Group.
