The Common Multi-Mission Truck (CMMT), a novel modular and mass-producible air vehicle fashioned like a cruise missile, was introduced by Lockheed Martin. The CMMT, also referred to as the “comet,” is intended to be a low-cost weapon that is fired in large quantities toward a single location in order to overwhelm enemy defenses or guarantee the destruction of a valuable target. Because of its modular open systems architecture, subsystems including as engines, payloads, and seekers can be changed to suit the objectives of the mission.
