Spain’s upcoming RALOFI radar system is intended to strengthen battlefield awareness by detecting indirect fire threats such as artillery, rockets, and mortars. Built with advanced electronically scanned array technology and GaN semiconductor components, the radar can track incoming projectiles and determine their launch location. The system also uses software-defined radio communications to improve operational flexibility and electronic protection. Together, these technologies will allow faster detection and more accurate targeting of enemy artillery systems.
