The US Army is turning its operational data into training material for AI systems designed to identify and follow military targets automatically. Sightline Intelligence’s Aided Target Recognition platform is providing Army teams with an environment for developing and evaluating such models using military datasets. The system includes both model-development tools and a government-focused training interface. These capabilities are intended to help personnel train target-recognition algorithms and assess how effectively they can detect and track objects relevant to military operations.According to the source, the technology could eventually support a broad range of applications. These include seekers for missiles, launched effects, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, long-range precision-strike systems, and air and missile-defense operations.
