Yantar USC has launched the RFS Vladimir Andreyev, a modern Ivan Gren-class landing ship, from its shipyard in Kaliningrad. As the third ship in a planned class of up to 11, this vessel represents a key component in Russia’s efforts to revamp its maritime amphibious operations.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony included Russian Navy Commander Admiral Alexander Moiseyev and USC’s Svetlana Morik. With commissioning expected in 2026, the Andreyev is currently undergoing post-launch outfitting. Upon completion, it will be integrated into the Pacific Fleet, filling the gap left by outdated amphibious ships and enhancing the fleet’s operational reach.
