Bollinger Shipyards in Florida has delivered the 59th Sentinel-class fast response cutter to the US Coast Guard. The accomplishment is in line with a 2008 plan to replace the service’s deteriorating patrol boats, which includes the Island-class boats that have been in duty since the 1980s. The new platform, designated the USCGC Earl Cunningham (WPC-1159), will be the second of three Sentinel cutters to be deployed to Kodiak.
