Astra Microwave Products Limited has achieved an important milestone in indigenous radar development by completing the delivery of an advanced Active Antenna Array Unit (AAAU)-based radar system to DRDO. The system has been developed to meet future requirements of naval and ground-based surveillance missions, offering advanced capabilities in long-range detection, precision tracking, and threat monitoring. The radar incorporates modern electronically scanned array technology designed to improve response against multiple aerial and maritime targets. Intended for integration into future naval defence networks, the system will enhance capabilities such as early threat identification, continuous target tracking, and coordinated weapon engagement support. Following the successful transfer, DRDO will conduct detailed technical assessments, integration evaluations, and operational trials to verify system performance under demanding conditions. The achievement underlines Astra Microwave’s expertise in developing high-reliability defence electronics and strengthens its contribution as an indigenous technology partner for India’s strategic defence programmes.
