AeroVironment has secured an $874 million US Army contract aimed at expanding global foreign military sales of unmanned aerial vehicles and counter-UAS capabilities. The long-term deal authorizes international partners to procure small and medium tactical drones, spare parts, operator training, and lifecycle support, significantly expanding the company’s global defense footprint.
Under Pentagon classifications, supported aircraft types include platforms weighing up to 1,230 pounds, with flight speeds reaching 250 knots, and operational ceilings of 18,000 feet. The award covers the firm’s key products, most notably the JUMP 20 UAS, which offers long-endurance ISR capability through a vertical takeoff fixed-wing design.
The package also features the P550 electric VTOL UAS, engineered for rapid field assembly, ISR payload integrations, and precision strike options with five hours of endurance. Another included platform, the Puma, supports land and maritime missions and accepts multiple third-party sensor packages.
Customers can also procure the Raven, AeroVironment’s most widely deployed small drone, which is hand-launched and optimized for real-time ISR or infrared imagery. Rounding out the offering is the Titan counter-UAS system, which leverages radio-frequency detection technology for mobile or stationary operations against enemy drones.
