Munich-based ARX Robotics has been awarded a new contract to supply more Gereon unmanned ground vehicles to Ukraine, marking a significant milestone in the development of the world’s largest coordinated ground robotics network. The company’s existing UGVs are already deployed along the front line, and the latest order will expand the fleet to several hundred units operating under a unified digital command structure.

The expanded fleet will be integrated through ARX’s Mithra operating system, enabling multiple robotic platforms to work together autonomously and execute complex missions. Manufacturing is being carried out across Europe and Ukraine, with Ukrainian industrial partners scaling up production to ensure rapid delivery and strengthen local defense capabilities.

The Gereon system was jointly developed with Ukrainian company Frontline under a European-Ukrainian collaboration program, ensuring continuous input from frontline users. Leveraging ARX’s established Gereon RCS architecture, the new variant has been redesigned for combat roles and enhanced with on-board artificial intelligence.

Engineered for rugged missions, the Gereon UGV can autonomously transport heavy loads, clear obstacles, and support logistics operations. With the ability to move 500 kilograms for distances up to 40 kilometers, the platform is adaptable for tasks such as supply transport, casualty evacuation, and forward surveillance. The system improves mission efficiency while helping relieve manpower shortages across multiple operational domains.
