Tel Aviv-based startup Insignito has announced a new defense contract to deliver 180 acoustic drone detection systems to protect high-security and VIP sites across Israel. The rollout is scheduled to start in January 2026, with gradual expansion through the year until the systems achieve full operational capability.

Each installation will include six networked “Dumbo” sensors that use advanced sound triangulation algorithms to pinpoint the direction and distance of incoming drones. The acoustic-based system enables passive detection without relying on radar or radio frequencies, offering a stealthy and cost-effective counter-UAS solution for sensitive zones.

Field tests conducted in Israel and the United States confirmed that the Dumbo system can accurately detect UAS activity at ranges of up to 2,000 meters (6,562 feet), maintaining high accuracy even in noisy environments. The technology’s success positions Insignito as an emerging leader in the acoustic drone detection market, where demand is rapidly increasing amid rising drone incursions.

To support its international expansion, Insignito has secured $1.5 million in pre-seed funding from Fresh Defense Fund and Colorado-based ICI Fund. The company intends to enter the U.S. and European defense markets in 2026 while continuing to collaborate with Israeli defense organizations. Insignito will also present its Dumbo platform at an upcoming tactical UAS convention in Tel Aviv, where global defense officials will review innovations in counter-drone and security technologies.
