At the Partner 2025 defense expo, Serbia unveiled the PEGASUS armed drone, marking a new phase in the country’s defense modernization agenda. PEGASUS was initially developed as an ISR UAV but now integrates precise strike capabilities through the incorporation of the RASH-2M guided munition kit produced in the United Arab Emirates. This enhancement adds significant firepower to Serbia’s unmanned aerial assets.

The drone supports a 54-kilogram payload and has a maximum takeoff weight of 265 kilograms, enabling it to carry mission-critical surveillance sensors and weapon systems. With an operational radius over 200 kilometers and an endurance nearing ten hours, PEGASUS is well suited for extended reconnaissance, target acquisition, and precision engagement in contested environments. The UAV features autonomous takeoff and landing functions plus a return-to-base fail-safe, easing operator workload and boosting mission success probability.

Serbia’s Ministry of Defence presented the full system, which includes multiple UAV units, transport cabins, ground control infrastructure, and communication relay stations. The PEGASUS platform is designed to provide real-time intelligence, laser target designation, artillery fire adjustment, and post-strike analysis, alongside its newly added strike capabilities.

By deploying PEGASUS alongside the cost-effective RASH-2M munition kit, Serbia is advancing a flexible unmanned solution that combines surveillance persistence with the ability to deliver precise strikes—an approach designed to strengthen tactical autonomy and enhance deterrence within the region.
