Redwire’s defense subsidiary Edge Autonomy has announced a new contract to supply its Stalker uncrewed aerial system (UAS) to a European NATO ally. The package includes aircraft, spares, and operator training, though key details such as the number of units, contract value, and delivery schedule were withheld for security reasons.
The VXE30 Stalker distinguishes itself with VTOL capability and a modular open systems framework, enabling flexible payload integration. This adaptability ensures the drone can support a wide range of evolving operational requirements, from intelligence gathering to tactical reconnaissance.
As a Group 2 long-endurance UAS, the Stalker is lightweight at 22 kilograms (49 pounds) but highly capable. It can sustain operations at 15,000 feet, flying at over 50 knots, with endurance exceeding eight hours depending on its power source — a fuel cell or rechargeable battery.
Its 160-kilometer communication range, rapid 10-minute assembly time, and ability to be managed by just two operators make the Stalker a cost-effective and easily deployable surveillance solution. With this contract, the unnamed NATO nation strengthens its reconnaissance capabilities while highlighting Edge Autonomy’s growing role in the alliance’s drone ecosystem.
