At IDEX 2025, AeroVironment, the company that makes the Switchblade drones for the US Army, showcased the Jump 20-X unmanned aerial system (UAS).An artificial intelligence-enabled autonomous aircraft for maritime operations with cross-domain dominance, the Jump 20-X is a “marinized” version of the company’s current Jump-20 vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing uncrewed platform. The UAS’s modular and open systems architecture allows it to support third-party payloads and radios in addition to Standardization Agreement-compliant communications for interoperability with NATO troops.
