Northrop Grumman is expanding its role in defense innovation with a $180 million deal to build new mission planning systems for the US military. This contract supports smarter and faster operations for the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps.
The systems will integrate automation and advanced analytics to enhance operational planning. Troops will benefit from faster route mapping, better risk assessments, and adaptive responses to threats that emerge in real time.
Of the total, the Air Force receives a significant $115 million portion to develop a next-gen global strike planning system. This initiative, managed by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, is designed to offer real-time threat intelligence and situational awareness for quicker decision-making in combat scenarios.
These improvements mark a major shift toward AI-driven planning in defense, reinforcing the US military’s ability to respond efficiently to future conflicts across air, sea, and ground domains.
