The Turkish government has taken delivery of the sixth prototype of the indigenously developed TAI Kaan fighter jet, marking another milestone in its pursuit of an advanced fifth-generation combat aircraft. This prototype will serve as a key asset in conducting detailed tests to measure the jet’s performance under various operational conditions.

Evaluation procedures will include structural stress testing, avionics verification, runway handling, and high-speed taxi evaluations. These tests are designed to ensure that the Kaan meets the stringent standards required for full-scale production and integration into the Turkish Air Force.

As reported by Ulusavunma, the air force will begin receiving production variants of the Kaan in multiple stages, with each batch reflecting technological enhancements. This gradual approach will culminate in the introduction of more advanced iterations such as Block 30 and Block 40.

These future versions will feature a locally manufactured engine and will go through comprehensive ground and flight evaluations to secure certification. The step-by-step rollout is intended to refine the aircraft’s capabilities and ensure Turkey achieves full self-sufficiency in next-gen fighter development.
