The final nine of the 72 F-35A Lightning II combat planes purchased as part of a deal that began in 2010 have been delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force. According to Canberra’s national defense policy, the planes would work alongside the military’s current F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft at RAAF Base Williamtown in New South Wales.The F-35A system is used by the air force in the Northern Territory and New South Wales in three operational squadrons, along with a training group.
