In a move to strengthen defense ties, Saab and Joint Stock Company Ukrainian Defense Industry (JS UDI) have signed an MoU covering aviation and airborne surveillance cooperation.
The agreement, disclosed at a multinational security event in Munich, includes collaboration on aircraft development, radar systems, avionics, and surveillance technologies to support Ukraine’s military modernization. Saab Deputy CEO Anders Carp and JS UDI head Herman Smetanin finalized the deal.
JS UDI consolidates over 130 state and civilian defense firms under Ukrainian government oversight and is ranked among the world’s top 50 arms manufacturers. Saab remains a leading defense company known for the Gripen fighter and Carl-Gustaf weapon.
