The US Air Force has awarded a $74 million contract to R4-Integration to install advanced KuKa beyond-line-of-sight communication systems on 39 HC-130J aircraft. The upgrade will enable improved satellite communication using both Ku and Ka frequency bands. The contract includes supplying hardware and software, testing integration kits, producing installation equipment, and providing satellite communication services. Work will take place at several US Air Force bases and is scheduled for completion by 2030, strengthening communication capabilities for personnel recovery and long-range mission operations.
