Boeing has secured an $8.5-billion Pentagon contract to deliver F-15IA combat aircraft to Israel, reinforcing the Israeli Air Force’s long-term airpower modernization efforts. Awarded through the Foreign Military Sales program, the deal includes production, integration, and testing for 25 fighter jets, with an option allowing Israel to expand the order to 50 aircraft.

All aircraft will be manufactured at Boeing’s St. Louis production line, while program coordination will be managed in collaboration with the US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center in Ohio. The contract runs through 2035, reflecting the scale and complexity of the fighter’s production and systems integration process.

The F-15IA is Israel’s designation for the F-15EX Eagle II, a next-generation variant developed from the US military’s Advanced Eagle platform. Designed for high-end air combat, the aircraft improves networked warfare capability, allowing seamless coordination with stealth fighters like the F-35 and F-22. The platform supports multi-crew operations and carries a wide range of air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2031, with annual shipments of four to six jets. The F-15IA features cutting-edge avionics, including AESA radar, infrared search and track, precision targeting pods, and robust electronic countermeasures. Powered by dual afterburning turbofan engines, the aircraft offers a 2,100-nautical-mile range, top speeds exceeding Mach 2, and enhanced survivability for operations across the Middle East’s contested airspace.
