According to corporate officials during an earnings call, Lockheed Martin anticipates reaching an agreement with the US government by the end of the year to construct the 18th and 19th lots of F-35 Joint Strike Fighters.The government is withholding multi-million dollar payments from Lockheed until the newest aircraft are capable of flying in combat, and the corporation is losing hundreds of millions of dollars as a result of the delay in securing the contract for future batches of F-35s.
