Swedish defense company Saab is exploring opportunities to deepen industrial collaboration with Portugal by offering local manufacturing participation in its Gripen fighter program. If Portugal selects the Gripen to replace its aging F-16 fleet, the company suggests that OGMA could produce key components for the aircraft. Saab has previously followed a similar partnership model in Brazil and other countries, where cooperation with domestic companies has strengthened national defense industries and created long-term economic benefits.
