Germany’s first of eight ordered P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) has been presented by American aircraft maker Boeing at its Seattle factory.As part of Germany’s original purchase request of five aircraft in 2021, followed by an additional three in 2023, it is expected to arrive in Berlin by August 2025. The nation’s current P-3C Orions, which are made by Lockheed Martin and used for submarine hunting and maritime patrol, are set to be retired this year and will be replaced by the Poseidon.
