Airbus Helicopters has secured a new order from the Nagoya City Fire Bureau for its advanced H160 multi-role helicopter, aimed at expanding the bureau’s capabilities in rescue, reconnaissance, and firefighting operations. This latest order will bring the bureau’s fleet up to date, retiring one of its legacy AS365N3 units to usher in the next generation of rotary-wing response.

The H160, with its modular mission versatility, will be customized for search and rescue (SAR) and aerial firefighting, capable of deploying a water bucket or underbelly tank for wildfire control. Its deployment is part of Japan’s broader effort to reinforce public safety infrastructure using modern aviation assets.

Airbus has a longstanding presence in Japan, with over 380 helicopters in operation nationwide. The H160, which is already flying for law enforcement and media missions in Japan, continues to gain traction among domestic operators. Its reputation for high safety standards and multi-mission functionality positions it as a top choice for public service agencies across the country.
