A landmark letter of intent between South Korea and the UAE now lays the groundwork for comprehensive cooperation on the KF-21 Boramae next-generation fighter. The pact, formalized through senior military officials from both nations, allows UAE pilots and personnel to participate directly in South Korean-led training, exercises, and operational planning activities related to the KF-21 program.
During the agreement’s rollout, UAE Air Force representatives inspected the jet’s production facilities, underscoring mutual interests in best practices and possible adaptation of the platform for future requirements. Though the UAE has not committed to purchase the KF-21, its strong involvement in hands-on exercises and technical knowledge-sharing initiatives illustrates both nations’ ambitions for collaborative fighter jet evolution.
This agreement builds on Korea’s outreach to potential partners looking to co-develop or operate next-generation air systems, strengthening ties with emerging regional leaders and expanding the global footprint of the Boramae initiative.
