Australian defense technology company DroneShield has introduced RfRecon, a handheld radio-frequency intelligence system designed to help battlefield operators detect, identify, locate, and assess signals from a single portable device. The system combines several capabilities, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Remote ID, ship and aircraft detection, integrated Global Navigation Satellite System technology, and hardware-based security. RfRecon is built around ultra-wideband coverage, direction finding, and signals intelligence functions designed to provide users with greater awareness of the electromagnetic environment. Its open architecture and use of common data formats are intended to simplify integration with existing networks and systems. By combining multiple RF intelligence functions in a compact handheld platform, the system is designed to bring advanced signal detection and analysis capabilities closer to frontline personnel.
