India is procuring 159 armored troop carriers for the Rashtriya Rifles to strengthen counterinsurgency operations in challenging border regions. The vehicles are designed for rugged terrain, high-altitude deployment, and protected troop mobility while allowing limited combat engagement from inside the platform. The project also supports India’s push for indigenous defense production and self-reliance.
