L3Harris Technologies delivered nearly half a million fuzes in 2025, marking the highest annual output in the company’s history as demand for munitions increased among the US military and its allies. The record production milestone was driven by expanded manufacturing activity within L3Harris’ Fuzing and Ordnance Systems division, which produces fuzes, safe-and-arm devices, and ordnance components used in advanced weapons systems.
Fuzes are essential elements in modern missiles and precision-guided weapons, controlling arming, detonation timing, and safety. The company reported that its 2025 fuze deliveries rose by almost 80 percent compared to 2024, when shipments exceeded 280,000 units across multiple US and allied defense programs.
Executives attributed the sustained production growth to ongoing, multi-year requirements from the US Department of Defense and international partners, rather than a short-term production surge. For the second year in a row, fuze orders reached record levels, highlighting continued stress on munitions supply chains as militaries seek to replenish stocks and expand readiness.
To meet rising demand, L3Harris has relied on long-term contracts and recent awards. In mid-2024, the US Army issued a delivery order worth up to $872.4 million for the production of M762A1 and M767A1 electronic timing fuzes under an extended multi-year contract. The company also received a nearly $15 million contract in July 2025 from the US Air Force’s Ogden Air Logistics Complex, supporting fuze production and inventory objectives across military logistics networks.
