L3Harris Technologies has received NSA certification for its upgraded Rover ISR radio terminals, enabling secure communications for US-approved allied forces operating alongside American troops. The move significantly enhances multinational interoperability by granting partners access to NSA-encrypted networks through certified hardware.

The approval applies to the Rover 6Sc transreceiver and the Tactical Network Rover 2c handheld terminal. With the certification in place, up to 50 coalition nations cleared by the US Department of State are now eligible to procure the systems via the Foreign Military Sales channel.

Previously, international users could only purchase exportable Rover “i” models, which lacked compatibility with high-assurance US communications. The newly certified variants remove this limitation, allowing allied forces to securely exchange ISR data and live video feeds with US units during joint operations.

The Rover ISR terminal family supports a wide range of missions across air, land, and maritime domains. Its capabilities include real-time situational awareness, target identification, tracking, battle damage assessment, and support for relay and convoy protection missions.

Rover terminals are equipped with smart frequency-hopping and interference-resistant technologies that ensure reliable connectivity in contested electromagnetic environments. In addition, the latest systems support a broad range of waveforms, enabling seamless integration with aircraft, unmanned platforms, and modern targeting pods in service with allied air forces.
