The US military employed L3Harris’s advanced EW technology during Talisman Sabre 2025 with Australia, using it to detect and analyze marine vessel radars. The exercise highlighted the system’s capability to strengthen maritime situational awareness through collaborative spectrum operations.
Known as the Distributed Spectrum Collaboration and Operations (DiSCO) system, the platform is cloud-enabled and fuses multiple data streams into a single EW framework. This architecture accelerates response times by unifying information from diverse battlefield sensors and communication networks.
For the exercise, DiSCO operated with input from an aircraft and two Seasats Lightfish autonomous surface vessels carrying lightweight EW payloads. Together, these assets provided a connected and responsive electronic warfare network.
The system has been tested in various environments. It took part in the Valiant Shield 2024 exercise, which included multinational forces from Japan, Canada, and France. In another trial later that year in Washington, DC, DiSCO was integrated into a Seasats Lightfish vessel to collect and analyze radio frequency emissions, demonstrating its versatility for different mission sets.
