New Delhi has released a long-term military transformation strategy called “Defence Forces Vision 2047,” aimed at reshaping India’s armed forces for future multi-domain warfare. The roadmap focuses on greater integration between military branches, modernization of operational structures, and increased adoption of advanced technologies. Indigenous defense manufacturing remains a central pillar of the strategy, with India continuing to prioritize local production and technology development under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Supported by rising defense spending, the plan is expected to accelerate procurement of advanced aircraft, naval platforms, drones, and digital military infrastructure over the coming decades.
