China has developed an augmented reality headset system for armored vehicle crews, aiming to enhance visibility and shorten reaction times during combat. The equipment will support multiple roles inside a vehicle, from the driver to the gunner, by projecting critical battlefield information directly in front of their eyes.
Linked to external-mounted cameras and sensors, the AR headsets deliver a seamless 360-degree view through a heads-up display. This allows crews to monitor threats, terrain, and targets beyond the limited sightlines of periscopes or vision blocks traditionally used in tanks.
The key advantage lies in the ability to see past heavy armor that has long constrained crew awareness. By merging digital imagery with real-world visuals, the system promises greater operational efficiency and survivability in high-threat environments.
