The Canadian government is launching a major investment exceeding 900 million Canadian dollars to strengthen research into drone technologies and airborne defense systems. Managed by the National Research Council, the initiative includes building a dedicated testing facility and acquiring a Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft for experimental flight research. The program will explore drone applications in areas including national security, emergency response, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure protection. Officials say the investment is designed to strengthen Canada’s domestic innovation capacity and support its aerospace industry.
