RADA Electronic Industries, an Israeli radar technology company, is intensifying software upgrades for its systems deployed in Ukraine, guided by direct feedback from Ukrainian troops. Data collected from real-world engagements has helped engineers fine-tune radar precision, threat classification, and tracking capabilities under live battlefield conditions.

The company’s flagship solution in Ukrainian service, the Improved Multi-Mission Hemispheric Radar (ieMHR), serves as a critical component of Ukraine’s air defense network. Designed to identify aerial, missile, and drone threats, the ieMHR’s compact form enables flexible use in stationary posts or mobile platforms.

Performance figures from RADA highlight its wide detection range: the system can spot nanodrones within 10 km, medium-sized drones up to 45 km, and fighter aircraft at 35 km, while monitoring large air transports at distances reaching 100 km. Such versatility allows Ukrainian operators to respond quickly to diverse aerial threats, including low-altitude and high-speed targets.

Multiple ieMHR units are now in frontline operation, most provided through civilian volunteer organizations. One notable contributor, Lithuania’s Blue/Yellow NGO, supplied several units that entered combat use in May 2023. That delivery was part of a 16-system batch approved by Israel’s Ministry of Defense, underscoring continued cooperation between Israeli defense firms and Ukraine’s security forces.
