The US Air Force is expanding cooperation with industry through the creation of the AEDC Velocity Alliance, a program designed to speed modernization efforts at key testing facilities. The alliance will provide access to qualified contractors capable of supporting a wide range of infrastructure projects. Eligible organizations include traditional defense firms, emerging technology companies, academic institutions, and nonprofit research groups. Members must meet strict technical and cybersecurity requirements before joining the program. The initiative covers work such as facility construction, equipment repairs, engineering upgrades, process systems, and fire-protection improvements. By creating a pool of approved participants in advance, the Air Force aims to accelerate project implementation and improve responsiveness to future testing needs. As defense technologies evolve toward higher speeds and greater complexity, modern test environments become increasingly important. The alliance is expected to support the development of hypersonic systems, advanced sensors, and other emerging capabilities requiring sophisticated testing infrastructure.
