The Czech Ministry of Defense has secured a new fleet of 18 Supacat HMT Extenda armored vehicles for its special forces. Domestic company LPP will supply the vehicles, while the state-owned VTÚ will handle system integration, including weapons and advanced communications. The deal involves a chassis cost of 32.6 million pounds ($44 million) and integration expenses worth 810 million Czech koruna ($39 million).

Set to replace older Land Rover platforms, the vehicles will serve the 601st Special Forces Group. Military leadership highlighted that the acquisition will boost operational readiness, mobility, and survivability, ensuring Czech special forces meet NATO capability goals.

The Extenda platform offers adaptability through a modular design, switching between 4×4 and 6×6 setups. It carries up to 2,100 kilograms in the smaller configuration and nearly double that in 6×6 mode. Additional mine-resistant and ballistic kits are available for enhanced protection during high-risk missions.

With seating for four in the standard variant and six in the Mk2, the vehicle reaches 120 km/h and provides a range of 1,000 kilometers. Already adopted by NATO allies and partners, including the UK and US, the Extenda ensures smooth logistical support and interoperability in multinational operations.
