Electro Optic Systems (EOS), an Australian defense technology leader, has secured a 71.4-million-euro ($83 million) contract to supply a next-generation laser-based counter-drone weapon.
A European NATO country, whose identity remains confidential, has commissioned the 100-kilowatt class system to enhance its defense against unmanned aerial threats. Deliveries are set to occur gradually from 2025 through 2028, ensuring a phased integration into its armed forces.
The agreement not only covers the production of the system but also includes spare components, operator training programs, and detailed technical documentation.
Manufacturing and delivery operations will be based out of EOS’s laser innovation hub in Singapore, highlighting the firm’s global footprint and advanced defense manufacturing capabilities. This milestone reinforces EOS’s position as a key supplier of state-of-the-art counter-drone solutions to allied nations.
