A notable addition to Ukraine’s air defense arsenal has emerged with the introduction of a customized surface-to-air missile vehicle, built on the base frame of the U.S.-origin Humvee. Replacing most of the original architecture, engineers retained only the chassis, overhauling the rest to enhance tactical responsiveness and survivability. At its core is a “fire-and-forget” missile system, which empowers units to target and neutralize threats with minimal exposure—critical in contested zones where retaliation is swift.

The newly integrated combat cabin module allows for better command-and-control operations while offering protection during rapid relocation maneuvers. The vehicle’s agile design prioritizes hit-and-evade tactics, enabling forces to neutralize aerial targets and withdraw before enemy detection systems can retaliate. Officially designated for frontline deployment, this system is now in use by the 3rd Assault Brigade, demonstrating Ukraine’s move toward high-speed, decentralized battlefield platforms suited for modern warfare against a technologically capable adversary like Russia.
