The U.S. State Department has approved a potential arms deal with Turkey involving the sale of two types of missiles manufactured by RTX. The agreement includes 53 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM), six AMRAAM guidance sections, and related support, valued at $225 million. Additionally, Turkey has requested 60 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II missiles and 11 corresponding tactical guidance units, bringing the second package to $79.1 million. The deal aims to enhance Turkey’s air defense capabilities as a NATO ally.
