The K9A2 turret and an American Mack Defense military truck chassis have been combined to create a new generation of wheeled self-propelled howitzers designed for the U.S. Army by the South Korean defense business Hanwha Defense. Following the termination of the Extended Range Cannon Artillery (ERCA) program, the U.S. Army is updating its artillery capabilities through the Next Generation Howitzer (NGH) program, which includes this concept.
