In order to increase the operational capability and utilization of IRIS-T short-range air-to-air missiles for its combat platforms, Diehl Defence announced the signing of a support contract with the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF). The long-running and fruitful partnership between the two companies over the use of Diehl Defence’s IRIS-T missiles on RTAF aircraft continues with this deal.This deal is another significant step for Diehl Defence in enhancing collaboration with the RTAF and extending the IRIS-T’s application to new platforms. F-16, EF-18, F-5, Eurofighter Typhoon, Gripen, and Tornado aircraft already incorporate the fifth-generation missile, IRIS-T. The IRIS-T missile is now being integrated into the Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) KF-21 fighter plane.
