The Romanian Ministry of Defense intends to double its 2023 order by purchasing 44 secondhand amphibious assault vehicles from the United States.The project is a component of Bucharest’s overarching goal to enhance the Romanian Army’s competitiveness against changing threats by integrating contemporary assets into the force by 2040.According to official papers examined by DefenseRomania, the proposed contract, which has now been submitted to parliament for approval, specifies the US systems in their AAV-7 configuration.
