The Royal Netherlands Army has selected RENK Test System (RTS) to supply a new generation of high-power vehicle testing systems to support its ground forces. The contract, awarded by the Dutch Army Maintenance and Logistics Command, will significantly enhance the army’s ability to sustain and modernize its armored and tactical vehicle fleets.
Under the agreement, RTS will deliver a 1,500 kW drivetrain test bench along with three engine testing rigs covering 1,500 kW, 700 kW, and 350 kW power classes. The equipment will support maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations for platforms such as the Leopard 2 main battle tank, as well as lighter wheeled and tracked vehicles in Dutch Army service.
Installation will take place at the new Technology Center Land, a centralized logistics facility being developed to replace outdated buildings and consolidate technical infrastructure. RTS is responsible not only for the testing systems themselves, but also for associated facility equipment, ensuring full integration into the new maintenance hub.
Although financial details were not made public, RTS confirmed the deal is valued in the double-digit millions of euros. The company will work alongside Van Halteren Technologies to handle local construction and integration activities. According to RTS Managing Director Mathias Karrer, the contract strengthens the firm’s position in the defense test equipment market and aligns with the Netherlands’ broader defense modernization drive, supported by rising military budgets and long-term armored vehicle investments.
