In response to recent operational demands, Israel has tasked Israel Aerospace Industries with producing more Arrow missile interceptors, part of the country’s sophisticated multi-layered defense shield. This advanced interceptor system, developed in collaboration with the US Missile Defense Agency, is capable of engaging ballistic threats at ranges up to 2,400 kilometers and altitudes above 100 kilometers.

The decision comes after the Arrow system was heavily relied upon during Israel’s 12-day military engagement with Iran in June. Sources indicate that the intense aerial campaign led to a substantial drawdown in the country’s missile reserves, prompting the need for rapid replenishment.

Coinciding with this development, Israel has unveiled plans to significantly increase its defense budget by 42 billion new Israeli shekels ($12.5 billion) over the next two years. This increase will elevate the annual defense expenditure to 110 billion shekels ($32.7 billion), representing nearly 9% of the national GDP. The additional funding is expected to accelerate the procurement of critical weapons systems to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.
