The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration has placed an order for 94 more Patria 6×6 armored vehicles, expanding on an earlier 321-vehicle deal signed in March 2024. The contract, worth approximately 1.5 billion Swedish krona ($159.8 million), is executed under the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) program. With this latest purchase, Sweden’s total fleet of Patria 6×6 vehicles reaches 415 units, with deliveries scheduled from 2025 through 2030.

The new batch consists of several variants of the Pansarterrängbil 300, including troop carrier, command and control, and Medevac configurations. Swedish officials stated that the procurement underscores the nation’s confidence in the Patria 6×6 platform and reinforces the CAVS program’s central goal of achieving interoperability, efficiency, and secure supply chains among member states.

This acquisition aligns with Sweden’s recent efforts to modernize its land capabilities, following contracts for Textron’s RIPSAW M3 robotic vehicles and the continued expansion of the Sisu GTP 4×4 fleet. The growth reflects Sweden’s strategic push to enhance defense readiness in cooperation with regional allies.

Established in 2020 and jointly led by Finland and Patria, the CAVS program includes Denmark, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Sweden, and the UK. The group selected the Patria 6×6 as its common armored platform, enabling nations to combine industrial capacity, streamline procurement, and strengthen operational compatibility. The modular 6×6 platform supports multiple mission types, and the program remains open to new partners pending approval by existing participants.
