The Meteor missile program is undergoing a significant enhancement centered on a next-generation datalink developed by Spanish defense technology firm Indra. The redesigned system is intended to expand operational connectivity while increasing resilience against jamming and electronic countermeasures. Presented to MBDA and the program’s joint oversight authority for technical review, the upgrade reinforces the missile’s role within network-centric warfare frameworks. Improved in-flight target updates and hardened communication pathways will enhance reliability in high-threat environments where sustained air dominance depends on secure, real-time data exchange.
