Lithuania’s Defence Materiel Agency has signed a €950 million agreement with Germany’s KNDS Deutschland for the acquisition of 44 LEOPARD 2 A8 main battle tanks. This marks a major milestone for Lithuania, as it begins the process of forming its first armored tank unit. The country will become the 23rd operator of the LEOPARD 2 platform. The deal also includes spare parts, full logistical support, and sustainment components necessary for operational readiness.
