L3Harris Technologies has deployed its VAMPIRE counter-unmanned aerial system on GM Defense’s Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV), providing a modular, vehicle-agnostic solution for small drone threats. The VAMPIRE system combines ISR sensors and autonomous counter-drone capabilities in a plug-and-play pallet, allowing rapid integration across multiple platforms. GM Defense’s ISV, based on the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 chassis, is an off-road, air-transportable vehicle designed for nine personnel and up to 3,200 pounds of gear. VAMPIRE has been operational since 2023 in European theaters, reportedly neutralizing hundreds of adversary drones, and represents a cost-effective solution to extend battlefield air defense to ground maneuver units.
