Last month, the UK flight conducted the first test of the SPEAR-3 air-to-ground guided cruise missile, which is still under development. A significant development milestone was reached when the MBDA UK missile was launched at the Vidsel range in Sweden by a Eurofighter Typhoon jet operated by BAE Systems.After a high-altitude, high-speed release, the test showed the missile’s ability to release, gather, and regulate long-range free flight. This guided launch is the first in a series of firings to showcase the missile’s capabilities and marks a significant milestone in the SPEAR program’s capability development.
