In a significant move for India’s defense sector, Nibe Limited has signed an agreement with Israeli defense giant Elbit Systems to manufacture the Precise and Universal Launching System (PULS) multiple rocket launcher (MRL) in India. This collaboration includes technology transfer and covers production for both Indian and international clients.
This deal marks the first time a foreign-origin MRL will be produced within India, advancing the nation’s capabilities in high-tech defense systems. It positions India as a future hub for exporting modern rocket artillery platforms.
The PULS system offers superior features compared to India’s existing Pinaka system. While Pinaka’s range currently caps at 90 kilometers, PULS can launch a variety of munitions, including 122mm, 160mm, and 306mm rockets, as well as the Predator Hawk missile with a 300-km range.
Its modular design allows PULS to be mounted on several types of chassis—ranging from 4×4 to 8×8—and to work with customized fire-control systems. This adaptability ensures it can be smoothly integrated into diverse command and control structures across different armed forces.
